RESEARCH ENGINEER - ENVIRONMENTAL MODELING AND DATA EXPERT

The position is part of the EthiFinance Analytics department.
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated member to join our Environmental Services team to develop models and construct expertise on the different environmental topics (climate-related risks, biodiversity, use of resources, circular economy) and developing solutions for financial institutions and collaborating in the effort of integrating ESG topics in finance and credit rating methodologies.

Update, build and improve quantitative environmental models and construct an environmental expertise for financial institutions and corporate; Support the research, methodology, product and sales teams by ensuring efficient and functioning models and tools; Construct and deliver training about environmental topics.
Responsibilities .
Asset-based natural risk modeling concerning physical climate risk, such as drought, floods, etc., and/or biodiversity-related risk from the location of an asset / activity; Explore other data sources to complement the environmental analysis of a company (use of resources, circular economy) and understand potential risk and opportunities; Sensitivity analysis of the impact of environmental risks on an asset / economic activity; Study the transmission channels between the different environmental risks.
transition risk related to transition toward a more sustainable economy and physical risks related to environmental impacts on assets and activities, including also the supply chain; Integration of extra-financial risks (ESG, climate, biodiversity) in credit risk methodologies; Update, monitor and improve the existing models (asset based nature risk tool, carbon emissions modeling, temperature trajectories) using Excel and Python; Update and develop tools to support the quality of existing model; Redaction of scientific publications and methodologies; Construct and deliver training about environmental topics; Development of programming tools in Git.
