As a Senior IT Engineer, you’ll also collaborate with infrastructure technology peers and handle business solutions for the company’s network infrastructure. The perfect candidate would have a track record of using a diverse set of technologies to achieve business goals.ResponsibilitiesPlan and lead LAN, WAN, network security, and systems projects and platforms such as multi-vendor network devices, enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls, wireless controllers and VPN technologies, including routing and switching protocols, VoIP, servers, DHCP, DNS, and so onLeverage cloud technologies (AWS), Azure, GCP, Fortinet, Ruckus, among other new technologies to provide guidance and help find creative solutions to complex problemsRespond to and resolve emergent problems across our diverse enterprise systems, from the physical layer to the application layerUtilize best practices based on various frameworks (e.g. ITIL, ISO, SOC, PCI) and support internal and external audit activitiesYou’ll use the know-how and discerning standards you’ve racked up over years of experience to recommend emerging technologies to keep our network modern, innovative, and secureCollaborate with team of fellow tech gurus and play an integral part of network and systems design, architecture and administrationRequired ExperienceYou’re well educated, with at least a BS in Computer Science or related field/degreeIn-depth understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, subnetting, etc.)You are skilled in BGP routing protocol. You have the ability to plan, design, implement and troubleshoot BGP routing issues.You’re a Fortinet Network Security Expert or Specialist (NSE 4, NSE 5) on the Enterprise side or and have 6+ years of experience as an accomplished Fortinet Network administrator.You have experience designing and managing wireless networks and troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues. Experience with Fortinet and Ruckus wireless is a plusYou have experience with scripting and automation tools that manage network configuration changes and source control.Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.You have an ability to approach problems from unconventional angles, offering unique perspectivesYou have a forward-thinking mindset, forecasting potential problems and following developing technological trendsAt Appian, you will help us build our award-winning PaaS product that enables business people to build cloud and mobile enterprise applications with flexible, visual models instead of custom code.
