Information & Cyber Security Specialist - Project and Standards Assessment About the Job Allianz is seeking an experienced Information Security (IS) Specialist to join our team and lead assessments and reviews of global Business and IT projects and proposed standards.
In this role, you will focus on evaluating projects against key aspects of Allianz's Information and Cyber Security framework and relevant regulations, identifying potential risks and their impacts, and recommending practical mitigations.
Your expertise will be vital in strengthening our security posture, making any residual risks transparent to key stakeholders, and ensuring that projects and standards align with the evolving threat landscape and the needs of our business.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, information technology, data privacy, service provider and business management, to drive the IS vetting process and provide insights to senior leadership.

What you do • Vetting and Assessment.
Drive IS vetting and assessment of global IT projects and proposed standards within senior level committees and boards, ensuring alignment with Allianz's security policies and frameworks.
• Risk Identification and Mitigation.
Identify potential security risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with industry standards and transparency on residual risks.
• Continuous Learning and Adaptation.
Stay informed about emerging design deficiencies, technologies, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies to ensure Allianz remains proactive in its security measures.
• Stakeholder Collaboration.
Work closely with architecture, technology, data privacy, shared service and business management to ensure security by design and compliance with internal controls.
• Reporting.
Provide summaries and detailed insights on security assessments to senior leadership, highlighting areas for improvement and residual risks.
What you bring • Educational Background.
Higher education degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Information Security Expertise.
Extensive experience in assessing and reviewing IT projects and standards, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
• Technical Proficiency.
Deep knowledge of security technologies and practices, with the ability to evaluate technical security controls.
Strong understanding of cloud security, network security, and application security.
Hands on experience is a plus • Analytical Skills.
Demonstrated experience in identifying design deficiencies and attack vectors, and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Familiarity with compliance and governance frameworks (e.
., ISO , EU-NIS, EU-DORA, COBIT) in conjunction with internal security frameworks and the ability to translate them into practical security measures.
• Certifications.
Advanced Information Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM or CRISC are preferred.
• Communication Skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with experience engaging stakeholders across various levels within the organization • Project Management.
Experience in managing projects, with the ability to operate effectively in a deadline-oriented environment.
