🚀 Venga: bridging innovative blockchain technologies to traditional financeVenga is an app with a mission to take innovative blockchain technologies and bridge them to traditional finance inside a powerful centralized app, empowering people to effortlessly discover, invest, and navigate the world of Web3.🔎 Whom We're Looking ForWe are looking for a Head of Finance with a background in crypto and blockchain to join our team and lead the formation of our finance and accounting processes from scratch. This challenging role requires you to have a hands-on approach and wear multiple hats while creating a long-term framework that will allow Venga to grow and scale. This role will work closely and report directly to the CEO. If you are knowledgeable and passionate about web3 and blockchain technologies, are hungry for a challenge, are looking to work in a fast-paced startup environment, and want to work on forming a finance department from scratch, then this role is for you!💻 What You'll Be DoingYou will take over Venga's existing finance and accounting processes and, from scratch, create a long-term framework that will allow the company to operate and grow. You will set up a bookkeeping and reporting system, taking into account the specifics of accounting for various cryptocurrency products and services, which you will manage with a hands-on approach.From day one, you will continuously own and maintain the company's overall finances with the requirements and obligations prescribed by the relevant authorities.You will develop and write Venga's finance policies and create frameworks for crypto and fiat treasury management for Venga's wallet infrastructure, as well as Venga's liquidity planning and controlling. You will own and maintain the liquidity requirements of Venga's counterparties for cryptocurrency exchange operations.You will closely work with the compliance and support team to manage and execute all customer transfers in relation to compliance and support cases.You will collaborate with C-level to develop Vanga's fraud and payments risk rules and framework.When ready and needed, you will hire a team and build out Venga's finance department.When and if necessary, you will lead the rolling out of finance training to Venga's team to ensure the company staff has all the required training as per regulations.You will lead all communications with Venga's relevant partners and be the primary contact for tax advisors, auditors, banks, and authorities.You will work with the CEO to take over the ownership of Venga's business model and financial forecast, keeping all figures and variables up to date, editing, and improving the model when and where necessary.Working closely with Venga's accountants and tax consultants, you will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.You will work with the CEO to establish KPIs for the company and the team.You will provide strategic direction and financial oversight of all Venga's projects and initiatives, and you will continuously work with the whole team to identify potential areas where and how business performance can be improved.Always maintain an overall assessment of Venga's financial risks and potential opportunities, continuously updating the CEO.Proactively identify any scenarios that may present any significant risk to Venga.Stay continuously up-to-date on current developments in the crypto and blockchain space.Drive innovative thinking from a finance perspective to take Venga's products and services to the next level.👤 Who You Are & What You'll NeedYou have between 5 and 10 years of experience as a Senior Manager, Lead, Head, or Director of Finance, or equivalent, preferably in a startup environment.Solid know-how of cryptocurrencies is a must, with a deep understanding of the specifics of accounting for various cryptocurrency products and services.A good understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.Native or Advanced level of English and Spanish.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Control, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant degrees. Professional accounting certifications and qualifications are a plus (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, equivalent).Prior leadership skills with the ability to form a team from scratch.You are not afraid to get your hands dirty and are ready to get involved in multiple processes simultaneously.You are exceptionally well organized and can stay calm when working to tight deadlines.You can break complex problems into viable and actionable chunks and solve each problem accurately and effectively.🇪🇸 What we offerFull-time permanent contract.A sunny office in Barcelona 100 meters away from the beach.A hybrid work model with the option of going to the office daily if preferred.A brand new MacBook.Health insurance.Exciting work in a dynamic, international, and hyper-growth startup.
