Job Description Summary.
Provides leadership in the design solutions, implementation, and maintenance of databases.
Performs root cause analysis, coding, testing, documentation and implementation of multiple, large development projects.
Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
Serves as team lead liaison between business customers, development and support groups.
Coaches the development of less senior DBAs.
Ensures deliverables.
Job Specific Information.
Successful candidate will serve as a Database Advisor supporting the Enterprise cloud-based Teradata Vantage platform.
Provides leadership in the design solutions, implementation, and maintenance of databases.
Develops and executes a well-thought out strategy of workload optimization within the Teradata Vantage/Azure platform.
Performs root cause analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation of multiple enterprise-led initiatives, including design and release.
Serves as team liaison between business customers, development teams, and support groups.
Responsible for quality control and auditing of database performance.
Responsible for multiple Teradata systems performance.
Includes system monitoring and resolution for database locks, backup issues, and delayed queues.
Responds to production change requests, and support requests for outages, performance issues, out of space, and user support needs.
Query tuning / rewrites.
Object changes related to query optimization (new indexes and changes to table structures).
Works with many different users throughout the enterprise to support Enterprise Information Warehouse usage needs.
Supports Application ID requests, including reviewing, creating, and modifying application IDs, as well as the SQL or jobs they are executing.
Review/approves/denies break fix requests and other access requests.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus.

Minimum Qualifications.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Five (5) years’ work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
