Why is this role really critical to us?       The Data Core Planning Senior Specialist is a key position that ensures that the day to day planning of the Core network elements are managed and tracked and interaction with the stake holders and vendors are carried out to ensure that the services offered are delivered on time, while bringing in efficiencies and innovation in the solutions proposed and implemented.

How will you spend your time at Vodafone?   The Data Core Planning Senior Specialist is a key position that ensures that the day to day planning of the Core network elements are managed and tracked and interaction with the stake holders and vendors are carried out to ensure that the services offered are delivered on time, while bringing in efficiencies and innovation in the solutions proposed and implemented.
The following items indicate the scope and expectation for a person to be considered for this role.
•    To provide expertise in Planning, Design, Dimensioning and Optimization of of 2G&3G&4G&5G Mobile Data Core networks  •    To provide expertise in the area of protocols such as such as SS7, MAP,  SIP, Gn (GTP, GTPv2-C), Gx, Gy, Sd, S1-MME, S1-U, S3, S4, S5, S8, S11, S6a, SGs, S2b, SWu S6b,  5G N1, 5G N2 etc.
and their 3GPP specifications •    To provide expertise in the area of protocols such as such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, DNS, SNMP, GRE, IPSEC, RADIUS, NTP, DIAMETER etc.
and their RFCs.
•    To analyze Business Requirements and to translate into Network Requirements Specification that meets business and customer requirements.
•    To assess the necessity of Core Network HW/SW upgrades in order meet business requirements and make execution plans accordingly.
•    To follow up new technologies, to analyze Core Network vendor roadmaps and to evaluate new products and technologies for new service deployments.
•    To propose optimization and modification of existing and new services provided through the core network.
Constant communication with vendors to update, discuss and improve the received services.
•    Ensure that the Core related KPI’s are tracked and followed up with the related teams to ensure that all issues are identified and sorted out, before there is a risk to the network.
Track the KPI’s and prepare Trend reports and follow up these reports to proactively.
•    Ensure that the Projects are implemented within the Budget and the timeline.
Close interaction, understanding and Alignment of the Project and plan with other Stakeholders (RAN, CPN TX, IT, Operations, marketing, etc.) •    Prepare all Acceptance Test Procedures of new Core Network systems with vendors •    Lead and execute all Acceptance Tests of new Core Network systems with vendors to ensure proper integration of them to network.
•    Plan, develop and implement Tools to automate and expedite the Acceptance Tests in line with Continuous Integration & Delivery principles.
•    Discussing with other OpCos and Group technology for the Service related strategy and topics •    Work closely with the operations teams by providing timely input, feedback and RFC’s to carry out all Core services related network activities.

This role requires a person with at least 3+ years of experience in the Core related planning and Operations domains and worked with and/or interaction with the Vendors and involvement in service introduction and planning and deployment.
•    Bachelor’s degree from Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering.
•    Minimum 3 years of experience.
•    Mobile network planning principles experience.
