We’re a team of over 350 people across 5 countries (Spain, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Chile) delivering expert knowledge, passion and commitment to support our clients in the achievement of a more sustainable world.The roleWe’re looking for a Senior Support Engineer who shall take care of all technical aspects of the design and optimization of the Control and Supervision needs for renewables assets. You will be in charge of designing, with the client, the requirements for the SCADA, PPC, measurements points and all the high levels algorithm for the regulation and grid compliance of the assets. Also you will be in charge of coordinating actions of different stakeholders for the design, implementation, deployment and testing of new or updated functionalities.Your key responsibilities:Take the lead and manage the technical facets of the design process. Foresee and raise risks, propose solutions to fix them and follow the progress.Direct contact with the customer and other stakeholders to gather information, expectations and follow-up the progress of the design.Lead the technical and engineering process of producing the proper documentation and do the different activities for the design.Report the design and implementation progress in a clear manner, as needed, either verbally or in writing (for the formal records). Typically, on a weekly basis through follow-up meetings with both client and internal colleagues and by filling out control project documents.Provide suggestions and recommendations on configuration or architecture to enhance the final product.Elaboration of proceduresImplementation and testing of Scada parametrization updates.Design of point lists and controls to be exchanged with TSOs for every renewable energy asset.Your skills and experience:Expertise in any specific communication protocol: DPN3, Modbus, IEC-104, OPC, etc., Expertise in any specific SCADA systemAny DB system (SQLServer, Oracle, mySQL, etc...)Basic/intermediate knowledge in any programming language: C, python, MATLAB.Knowledge/experience working with AGC (Automatic Generation Control) units.Knowledge/experience working with ICCP protocol systems.Energy / renewable energy background: Photovoltaic (PV) and Wind are mandatory.Basic/intermediate networking knowledge: the candidate shall understand some concepts of a communication network and the different devices and functionalities involved.Basic/intermediate knowledge of communication protocols: general features, configuration, constraints, operation, pros and cons, usage recommendations.Leading and basic management skills to deal with customers, participate in meetings, being able to expose activities in a clear manner and to manage expectations efficiently.Energy / renewable energy background in any other energy (hydro, geothermal, carbon, oil, etc...) will be highly valued.Good written and verbal communication skillsHere at Isotrol, we are committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and therefore strongly encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
