ABOUT THE ROLE AstraZeneca is looking for a Senior Scientist or Associate Director data engineer to join the Predictive AI & Data team.
T his role will be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose solut ions to our CPSS (Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Science) colleagues, using enterprise inf rastru c ture and technology, where possible, aligned with AZ’s “ Bold Amb ition” initiative for .
The role will include receiving requirements from stakeholders, designing solutions that meet those requirements, leading the delivery (including test and release) of those solutions, and collaborating closely with our colleagues in R&D IT for the handover into BAU service.
You will collaborate with colleagues across the globe, predominantly with our colleagues in Sweden, the U nited K ingdom, and the U nited S tates of America.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED You will have delivery experience across key elements of the data and analytics domain.
You will need great interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to delivery and the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences (written and spoken) in English.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to understand business needs and translate them into a solution.
You must have strong analytical and data manipulation abilities.
You must have strong data visualisation skills and are able to drive user friendly interactions with data.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science/ engineering, or related field.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Required Technical Skills and Ex perience   ETL tools (Snaplogic, informatica, Snowflake pipes, etc).
Database technologies (e.
.
snowflake, oracle, RDBMS, NoSQL, etc)    Cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake, etc)     CI/CD (including git)    Data Warehousing and Data modelling (3NF, Star Schema)    Interrogating, analysing and documenting data systems   Programming Languages (Python, R, SQL, etc.)   E xperience of technical leadership in data and analytics.
Desirable Technical Skills and Experience Familiar with Data visualisation Tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, Rshiny, Python Dash or Flask, Streamlit, etc.
Architecting data platforms, particularly Data Mesh architectures.
Agile practises, particularly SCRUM and SAFe as well as Kanban.
Familiar with ML and AI workflows and AI driven solutions.
Familiar with Drug Development process, particularly pre-clinical.
