SENIOR DATA DEVELOPER

Join our dynamic team within Data Science & AI as a Senior Data Developer, a key member of the Analytics Data Preparation team.
This technical team is dedicated to accelerating data science projects across AstraZeneca’s R&D portfolio by preparing bespoke datasets that are ready for analysis and by creating tools that allow data scientists to work faster and more efficiently.
Your work in this position will enable scientific innovation to proceed at pace and at scale within AstraZeneca, ultimately accelerating development of new, life-changing medicines for patients around the globe.
Accountabilities.
As a Senior Data Developer, you will perform analysis of new projects to establish data preparation requirements and design appropriate solutions.
You will be responsible for data wrangling, cleaning, filtering, joining, transforming, etc.
to build new datasets that enable scientific research workflows to be conducted to a high quality and in an accelerated manner.
You will also generate reusable code/tools for use in subsequent projects and plan and execute testing plans including unit testing and user acceptance testing to guarantee the quality of outputs.
As an active team member, you will help to maintain a culture of collaboration and inclusion.
Essential Skills/Experience.
- MSc or PhD in life sciences related subject.
- Excellent skills in R or Python programming.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience.
- Experience working with Omics or Real-World Data.
- Experience developing R/Python packages.
- Experience with databases or cloud computing.
- Solid grasp of data science workflows.
