📊 LAYERS, our software, generates key yield forecasting data. In addition, it offers analytics to the agricultural sector with a large direct impact. For example, clients can improve the efficiency in treatments (sowing, fertilization, irrigation, etc.) and generate
estimations in yield (tonnes per hectare), as well as quality estimates (e.g. soybeans protein quantity) for different crops. We know that producers, the agroindustry itself, or even insurance companies and traders in the agronomical sector are facing three main challenges, with a large impact in their gross margin:

👾 The LAYERS Product Team is the main area of the company, where 13 persons are distributed in four squads: DevOps, BackEnd, UX/UI and Data Intelligence. 🎯 What is your mission in HEMAV?
Lead quality assurance initiatives for LAYERS front-end platform while developing front-end development skills to eventually contribute to both QA strategy and front-end implementation.
This is a growth-oriented position where you'll start as our QA specialist and progressively take on front-end development responsibilities as you build React/Next.js expertise. Specifically in LAYERS web (Next.js) and LAYERS App (React Native with Expo). Exchanging information and knowledge with data scientists, agronomists, analysts and other experts in and outside the company to identify, design and implement the features and designs that will make the change in present and future LAYERS users.
This mission is deeply linked with the design, technology and thus, the team involved in the application of software development, spatio-temporal statistics, agronomical knowledge and AI in Layers' solution. Statistics, maths, geographical information, software development, computer vision and other disciplines converge in the work of the whole team.
Global improvements in the robustness, performance and scalability of LAYERS will as well be part of the tasks this person will face.
✍🏽 Tasks
Quality Assurance Focus:

Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for LAYERS web (Next.js) and mobile (React Native/Expo) applications
Develop automated test suites using Cypress, Playwright, and Maestro
Establish testing standards and QA processes in FrontEnd team influencing the rest of the teams
Reduce Defect Escape Rate from current 37% to target
Be part of development team to implement testable code practices

Learning & Development:

Participate in Front-End codebase familiarization sessions
Complete React/Next.js learning curriculum (company-provided)
Shadow front-end developers during feature implementation
Contribute to simple UI fixes and improvements

⚙️ Responsibilities and functions:
· Work on tasks related to LAYERS UI QA and FE development together with other experts on different fields and technologies, to develop and deploy tools and techniques that allow HEMAV to extract the maximum value for the users. In addition, this team member will lead the User Experience and front-end design with high collaboration with internal and eventually external stakeholders.
· Join agile liturgies such as user stories refinement, sprint planning, daily meetings, product reviews and retrospectives. Contact point with internal stakeholders in punctual cases related to developments carried out.

Requirements
🏅 Technical Skills
MUST HAVE:
Testing & QA:

2+ years experience in software testing (manual and automated)
Experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar)
Understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance)
Bug tracking and test case management tools (e.g. Sentry)
API testing experience (Postman, REST clients)

Technical Foundation:

Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Basic React.JS knowledge
Git version control
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
SQL / GraphQL knowledge for data validation

NICE TO HAVE:
Agricultural/GIS Context:

Experience testing mapping applications or GIS systems
Understanding of geospatial data workflows
Familiarity with agricultural or scientific software testing

Front-End Development:

Experience with Next.js or React Native
