CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST

Role purpose The Cyber Defense Specialist will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's computer systems and networks from ever-evolving cyber threats.
The Cyber Defense Specialists' primary responsibility will be to analyze security risks, develop robust strategies to mitigate these risks and implement cutting-edge security measures to fortify our data and information assets.
Duties will encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to monitoring network activity, conducting thorough security audits, investigating, and responding to security breaches, and establishing/enforcing stringent security protocols.
Moreover, the Cyber Defense Specialist will be able to impart security expertise to our employees by providing comprehensive cyber security training, ensuring a culture of awareness and adherence to best practices.
Specialists must stay current on the latest cyber threats and technologies to effectively protect the organization's assets.
Key responsabilities • Analyze and assess security risks to develop effective strategies for threat mitigation.
• Coordinate regular vulnerability assessment and penetration tests to identify potential weaknesses in the organization’s systems and networks.
• In-depth analysis and detailed reporting of threats, malware, root cause and endpoint behavior using various tools, including IR Case Management, EDR, SIEM, PCAP, Mitre Framework, and malware sandbox.
• Managing the security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
• Monitoring network traffic and system logs to identify suspicious activities or potential security threats.
• Keeping up with the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices ensures the organizations’ defense mechanisms are current and influential.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as IT teams and management, to ensure cyber security measures align with business goals and objectives.
• Overseeing the development and delivery of cyber security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
• Providing regular reports and updates to management on the organization's cyber security posture, including any incidents, vulnerabilities, or improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Cyber Security  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cyber security, or a related field.
• Security-related certifications such as Certified CISSP, CISM, CEH or equivalent  • Candidates should have a strong knowledge of cyber security principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of common information technology management/compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC , SOC 2, ITIL, COBIT, and NIST.
• Knowledge of legal, regulatory and privacy requirements, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Protection and Payment Card Industry (PCI)/Data Security Standards and GDPR • Candidate should deeply understand the current cyber threat landscape, including emerging threats, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities.
They should stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills  • Excellent communication skills [French and English] • Experience with security tools and technologies, including layered security architecture, internet protocols, firewalls, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, network access control and network segmentation, anti-malware and spam technologies, risk and vulnerability assessments, and compliance.
• Security concepts related to DNS, routing, authentication, VPN, proxy services, SIEM and DDOS mitigation technologies.
• Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems • Candidate should have a strong sense of ethics and integrity, as they will protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
