Job Title: Cloud EngineerLocation: Spain (Remote work, fully sync with GMT+2 work schedule. Must be open to relocating).Main Job Purpose:We are looking for an individual who can serve as a Cloud Architect and lead the design of architecture as well as a team of Cloud and DevOps engineers in the construction and operation of Cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code and automation. The candidate must also ensure that the solution design in production meets business requirements and client expectations, adhering to best practices and the Well-Architected Framework.Responsibilities:Professionally represent the team and the company in all engagements with clients.Ability to lead and manage small teams (client/internal) in project delivery.Ability to advise and establish close, trusting relationships with heads of departments or team leads in Platform, Cloud Engineering, and DevOps teams.An active member of technical forums and collaborate to optimize their own designs and those of others. Promote Cloud capabilities within the organization and to clients.Persuasive communication and negotiation skills with a variety of stakeholders who may have different objectives and interests within the organization.Creative problem-solving abilities, working in ambiguous situations.Advise on defining business cases, strategies, and roadmaps for Cloud and DevOps.Play a key role in defining and designing initial discovery/proof of concept phases with clients.Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and industry-standard excellence.Ability to diagnose and remedy serious issues quickly and effectively.Implement new tools and architectural designs to enhance productivity, security, reliability, and performance.Expert in using the Well-Architected Framework (WAF): Reliability, Operational Excellence, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Security.Expert in designing Highly Available, secure, and robust architectures using WAF.Define and advise on Cloud strategy in the Financial and Insurance sectors.Responsible for the design of global cloud infrastructure architectures (Kubernetes, ML, Big Data, Blockchain…) in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) for the financial sector.Conduct infrastructure assessments to define migration strategies using the 7 R’s.Advise on defining Cloud operating models: Centers of Excellence, Platform teams.Advise on defining governance frameworks, risk, and cloud controls focusing on the automation of controls for automatic threat detection.Advise on managing cloud costs and FinOps.Advise on the implementation and definition of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies…Advise on the implementation and definition of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) for containers, applications, and Infrastructure (IaC like Terraform).Responsible for making key decisions in designing a public cloud solution and automating its integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD pipelines) using tools like Jenkins and GitHub.Define automated Landing Zones for AWS, Azure, and GCP through IaC.Design systems for continuous integration with fully automated pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, ArgoCD, SonarQube, Kiuwan…).Education:Master's/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Computer Science) or related fields.Skills, knowledge, and abilities required:AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate minimum, Professional preferred.Work experience (time, functions, and industries):At least 7 years of experience in technology projects and practical experience in technology, including at least the last 5 years in public Cloud and DevOps projects.Experience in the banking or insurance sectors is a plus.Experience in designing traditional architecture patterns (tier-3 or SOA), modern patterns (event-driven), microservices (containers), and serverless.Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Private), Windows, Linux, Security, and Networks.Solid experience in building highly scalable, secure, efficient, and resilient systems.Comfortable with detailed architecture and hands-on delivery using infrastructure as code.Experience leading the design of public cloud solution architectures.Source control and continuous integration/delivery pipeline management: Git, TeamCity/Jenkins, Terraform.Experience leading the design of security and configuration architectures (IAM, Monitoring and Logging, encryption, etc.) and working with Software Architects and developers.Knowledge of HashiCorp products: Packer, Vault, and Terraform.Hands-on experience in designing native cloud architectures and/or Event-driven architectures.Hands-on experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes Clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE)Hands-on experience in managing and deploying containers on Kubernetes: Jenkins, ArgoCD/GitOps.Experience in building, and configuring components on AWS: EKS, RDS, S3, EC2, EFS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, etc.Experience in building, and configuring components on Azure: Windows VM's, Web Apps, SQL Database, Virtual Network, Azure AD, etc.Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining production environments on AWS/Azure/Google.Hands-on experience in software development lifecycle management and CI/CD pipeline management with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, etc.Server and container image creation (using Packer, Ansible, etc.)Basic software development skills/experience in Python and scripting like shell.Experience optimizing cloud deployments for speed, resilience, scalability, and cost.Knowledge and understanding of Canary releases, blue/green deployments, and A/B testing.Understanding of security concepts, protocols, and configuration (authentication, authorization, encryption, secret management).Knowledge of Data Warehouses, Data Analytics, and Business Intelligence (PowerBI, Quicksight) and related services in AWS (EMR, Glue, Airflow, S3) /Azure (Databrick, Datafactory, Azure storage).Experience in system administration for Linux and/or WindowsKnowledge of best practices for APIs (restful, graphql) and microservices.Strong and proven experience in team management. Working on agile projects using Scrum and Kanban.
