We are seeking a passionate Associate Director Data Management to join our RDU IT Data & AI Team.
In this pivotal role you will collaborate with AstraZeneca Data Office IT Business Partners Data Capability Leads and business and technical leadership to ensure that Alexions data is used effectively strategically and securely.
Your focus will be on overseeing the development and management of mature data products ensuring their ongoing value delivery and compliance.

- Lead the vision strategy development and ongoing management of Alexions Data Products and Data Marketplace.
- Ensure continuous compliance of Data Products with global data management policies and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce data quality standards frameworks and metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and maximize value.
- Support key data strategies such as Data Governance and Master Data Management.
- Drive alignment with AstraZeneca Enterprise teams for cohesive data architecture.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data security and continuity.
- Monitor usage performance and KPIs of mature data products.
- Promote adoption of Data Products through training and support.
- Present plans progress and outcomes to senior management.
- Mentor a team of data management professionals.
Essential Skills/Experience.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science Information Management Computer Science or related field - Extensive experience (typically 7 years) in Data Management Data Products Data Quality and Metadata Management with at least 3 years in a leadership role - Hands-on experience with DataOps platforms such as Collibra and cloud-based data integration technologies - Strong leadership problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences - Knowledge of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry data needs - Certification in data management or related discipline preferred When we put unexpected teams in the same room we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
