-Providing adequate levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as 
appropriate to the needs of the students
- Working with 1:1 students and in group activities, supporting the students with their learning 
objectives
- Helping students to use equipment and material provided
-Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for students 
- Supporting class teacher with long and mid-term planning
- Setting up classroom in accordance with planning and assisting with the preparation of a comfortable 
learning environment
- Monitoring pupils’ performance throughout the year
- Communicating information to the class teacher about young people so learning plans and risk 
assessments can be updated

- Running a range of lessons when the teacher was absent

- Being an exceptional role model to students in terms of behaviour and etiquette 
- Designing and creating display boards taking into account the learning topics 
- Setting up classroom in accordance with planning
- Participating and running assemblies with young people 
- Organising and preparing community trips, facilitating the inclusion of the young people in the 
community
- Producing accurate and up-to-date records and reports as required
- Participating in staff meetings and trainings provided by the school 
- Managing incidents of challenging behaviour
