We're seeking an experienced z/OS System Programmer to manage and maintain our mainframe computer systems.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing smooth operation of the z/OS operating system and related software Tasks.
Install, update, and configure z/OS and third-party software.
Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical system issues.
Manage system I/O, prepare for maintenance, and participate in disaster recovery drills.
Execute system projects, including upgrades, migrations, and LPAR/CPU changes.
Maintain system security profiles and manage data files (SMF, OMVS, zFS).
Document all system changes and procedures.
Requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of dedicated z/OS system programming experience.
Strong understanding of z/OS architecture, programming, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with z/OS system commands, tools, and automation.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Bonus Points.
z/OS system programming certification.
Experience with IDMS.
Experience with JES, IMS, CICS, REXX, DB2 or COBOL.
Knowledge of mainframe systems in the cloud.
