Job Description Summary.
Serves as a solutions expert, at the business unit level developing the most advanced end-to-end solution architecture for highly complex and significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders.
 Exposes current state architecture and identifies options for future state architecture.
 Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns.
 Develops plans for and facilitates the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives.
Mentors those in less senior positions.

Technical leadership position within a growth organization at FedEx which will positively influence & impact customers around the planet.  The Global Clearance IT organization is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable & resilient custom software solutions to meet the needs of our global community.
Lead the development, execution, and implementation of software development standards, tools and technology for Express IT and ensure alignment with the CTO organizations in the enterprise.
Coach and consult across multiple projects and systems, to serve as an expert resource, advising teams on the frameworks, patterns, tooling, and best practices in constructs of API First, DevSecOps, Test Automation Frameworks in Software Engineering and recommending solutions to technical design problems.
Provide technical leadership for CONDOR – Datacenter Migration initiatives; Review technical impediments; lead technical discussions into resolution collaborating with expert teams.
Create Solution High Level Design for Portfolio demands.
Collaborate with Business owners, Business Architects to define and shape the Epics/requirements Collaborate with various Architect teams (Domain, Enterprise, and Application Architects) to develop the Solution Architecture design and approach.
Present Architecture intent to the Architecture review board, drive consensus and approval.
Prepared to make decisions and be prescriptive in solution recommendations - Coordinate with Application Architects to ensure development adheres to the recommended solution design.
Leverage prior application development knowledge/skills to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development teams.
Stay current on new technologies and best practices including the service portfolio of accepted and approved cloud providers.
Document technical standards, tools, and technology – conduct reviews and audits around the adherence and use.
Continuously improve upon the productivity, reliability, and efficiency of software development.
Mentor those in less senior technical positions.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus.
7+ years of technical background and hands on experience in Software Development and associated tools.
Must have experience in automating processes and tooling to support a development environment.
Must have experience designing and implementing cloud native architecture for enterprise class applications.
Solution/Application Architect experience is highly desired.
Experience in Java, Webservices, API, MicroServices and Cloud Native Development Understanding of DevSecOps Effective Technical and Software Architecture design abilities and capable of producing technical documentation.
Agile driven development experience leveraging Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE) Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Minimum Qualifications.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Five (5) years’ work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
