SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER IN TEST LEVEL 2 - B2C

Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager (SEM), the right person will be working as an experienced member of the team to provide SDET knowledge and expertise in the team and support the software development lifecycle by improving and contributing towards the creation, quality, and efficiency of the products from development to production.Strong knowledge of testing web UI and Native applications.Key Deliverables:Testing and DocumentationHelps the development teams to test and release their products efficiently.Ensures project defects raised adhere to department standards.Identifies, creates, and maintains automation test scenarios.Monitors and follows up on all defects raised within the team.Reviews any missed/or production issues and discusses improvements with their lead/team to ensure better future quality.Ensuring there is output data from tests (e.g. Graphite, Grafana, Splunk, Elastic, AppInsights), and the ability to read and understand the logs.Ability to automate feedback and alerts from tests, including reports and failures.Automation of manual tasks within the test & and automation cycle to improve efficiency.Improves test run times, pass rate, and defect detection, whilst minimizing manual intervention.Ability to gather results and analysis of data and feedback given by the tests.Knowledge of App testing and automating wrapper testingDevelopment Skills:Identifies and performs code reviews.Creates clean, maintainable code that meets technical requirements.Follow SOLID development principles.Ensure solutions are fault tolerant.Good knowledge of best practices and standards.Dev skills in React & TypescriptEnvironment & Operations:Raises environment issues with their lead/team and raises them in the relevant backlogs.Understands standard issues and uses solving techniques to identify hardware, connectivity or service issues.Assist teams in ensuring new processes/ideas work as expected in environments.Uses good judgement, logic and communication across teams for environment deployment/installation.Automates the running of tests (Run on trigger E.G deployment, overnight schedule) using DevOps / TeamCity.Good Knowledge of Testrail, Browserstack.Good Knowledge of CI/CD environments and pipelines and how they’re used in Automation.Good knowledge of what ephemeral test environments (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) are, and how they can be used for testing solutions.Continuously monitors environments and reports environment issues with specific details and completes troubleshooting of issues.Good product domain knowledge, Understanding the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
