Qualifications University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or Lawyer.
Master in Business Administration or Economics is desirable.
At least 1-3 years of previous experience in Project Finance and/or Corporate Loans structuring or Portfolio Monitoring.
Geographical mobility.
English C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency will be highly desirable.
Spanish (mother language or minimum B2).
Overview The Portfolio Monitoring unit is integrated in the Investment Banking & Finance team, which is part of the Corporate and Investment Banking division, and manages a portfolio of + project finance and corporate loan transactions, with assets in LATAM, EMEA and USA.
We get involved from the early stages of structuring, and once signed, we manage internally and externally all and any events relative to the transaction (general requests.
amendments, waivers...
etc.) but also all the daily management of each of the clients until its complete repayment on a standalone basis.
We are also in charge of the internal rating review and assessment for Project Finance portfolio, and advising in respect of a potential transfer of a transaction to the restructurings team, thus having a proactive monitoring approach.
We manage a number of agencies, and therefore we keep direct contact with the clients, in fact we become the main contact point in respect of the transactions we manage.
About the job The candidate will be responsible for the management and monitoring of a Project Finance and Corporate Loans portfolio with assets in LATAM, EMEA and USA.
Main tasks include.
Support to the structuring teams in all monitoring related covenants; Maintain transfer meeting with the teams of Syndicated Loan, Origination, BIBEC, CIB Workout, Recovery; Full end-to-end management of any requests (e.
.
amendments and waivers) with Clients, Banks, Risk/Credit, Internal and/or external Legal Counselors and BBVA units (BEC, BIBEC, Global Client Coverage, Financial Sponsors, Recovery, CIB Workout, etc) and update of the internal tools that may be required.
Management of contractual obligations (covenants) as well as any other events using the appropriate internal tools (CLAN Monitoring, CLAN Processing, Account Monitoring,  Document Management System) and update of such tools; Assistance to internal and external meetings, including internal sectoral meetings, external negotiations with clients, advisors...

Management of ingoing and outgoing documentation regarding loans when BBVA is agent bank (email and external deal sites such as Debtdomain);  Management of the loan portfolio from a fund manager point of view, providing a sectorial approach in order to anticipate business opportunities and credit or insolvency risk; Rating management for the Project Finance deals under its responsibility, which will involve working with risk rating tools and presenting the rating proposals against the risk team in a joint monthly committee.
Support in the optimization of APR's and in the decrease in capital consumption; Support to the development and improvement of the technological platform; Based in the continuous work and intensive knowledge of the portfolio, propose proactive measures to anticipate potential deterioration of any deal/sectors, and provide support to the relevant teams in respect of any decisions to be taken in this respect.
Keep the portfolio updated in the tool infrastructure of the area.
