WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to support our growing Platforms team, who are responsible for launching our software across multiple countries, working closely with, and collaborating with our engineering, data and security teams. The Platform Engineering Manager will support and foster our existing Platform team whilst working closely with stakeholders to ensure the stability and scalability of our technical environments. In this role you will: Lead an experienced team of Platform engineers, guiding their career development, managing performance, and providing effective feedback Mentor and provide technical guidance to platform engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning Ensuring engineering excellence by optimising processes, efficiency and effectiveness, particularly around Jira and sprint health with a focus on coherent tickets and continuous improvement Be responsible for release planning, prioritization with business stakeholder, risk management and all produce release schedules with timely delivery and high product quality and within budget Overarching involvement in the design and implementation of scalable and highly available solutions, ensuring reliability, performance, and security in line with wider business strategies Identify and resolve complex technical issues, troubleshoot production incidents Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and scalable solutions. Drive automation efforts and continuously improve the platform's infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring processes. Work collaboratively with technology teams, drive operations and automation to accelerate product delivery, and ensure consistent and stable services. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices Act as a subject matter expert for the platform, providing technical leadership and contributing to architectural decisions and roadmap planning. Partner with Security, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders Qualifications Required experience: AWS, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka and Infrastructure as code Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience. Five years' experience managing engineering or other technically oriented team Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) Proven track record of engaging and developing technical talent to build highly performing teams Self-motivated and the ability to work independently to achieve the strategic architectural vision of the organization A thorough understanding of technical refinement At least 3 years working with AWS or 5 years with another cloud platform Deep understanding of CI/CD methodology and implementation and how to effectively manage automated environments A deep understanding of distributes system design and dependency management Strong experience with monitoring tools, approaches, and implementation LOCATIONS The vacancies will be fully remote based out of either the UK, Spain, or the Netherlands.
