Por qué te necesitamos? Job description POSITION SUMMARY The Machine Operator II position is responsible for operating the machines and carrying out the daily tasks assigned by the supervisor.
This operator has the ability to successfully set up and run several production lines as opposed just one.
Ensures a safe and efficient operation of the production lines and conducts the first quality control check while packaging the product.

$/HR ESSENTIAL DUTIES Main responsibilities of this job.
Follow standardized work processes and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Effectively carry out assigned tasks throughout the shift.
Inspect machine prior to starting production.
Ability to operate simple machines simultaneously as needed.
Advanced proficiency of inspecting and using measuring tools (i.
.
Micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, depth gages, bore micrometers, dial indicators etc.) to indicate parts and verify dimensions of finished work piece.
Inspect products to ensure quality and customer specifications throughout the shift.
Notify supervisor if individual notices any issue with equipment on the production line Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace at end of shift.
Correctly report production in ERP system and ensure that the production orders have all the correct information and details on product, material, gloss levels, and quantities.
Notify material handler on coil that is needed and verify that the correct coil is requested.
Setup production according to production order details and drawings.
Notify supervisor and quality control if there are any deviations between orders and drawings.
Safely and correctly operate roll former (i.
.
full lubricators, guards, cutoff door are in place, etc.) Keep track of scrap and downtime during the shift and submit to supervisor at end of each shift.
During plant down time this position assists with plant housekeeping, maintenance, and warehouse duties.
Additional Responsibilities to fill in departmental gaps as needed.
Assist in setup for production according to production order details and drawings.
Keep track of time on Daily Production sheet and accurately enter time at the start and end of shift.
Set up labels, pallets, and band product to help move manufacturing process along.
Assist in assembly operations OTHER DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES - Ability to communicate updates and key information to other operators in the absence of supervisor.
- Participate in preventative maintenance to upkeep all equipment on production line.
Ability to multitask in terms of operating machine while also ensuring production is running smoothly across the whole department.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing (5S, Six Sigma etc.) for optimal workplace organization and safety.
Conduct daily crane inspection prior to starting production.
Attend daily safety chat and any other meetings conducted by supervisor.
Provide suggestions and ideas to continuously improve safety, quality and process.
Performs other duties requested by supervisor.
Checking behind helpers to ensure correct staging, packaging and labelling products.
¿Es este trabajo para ti? MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
High school diploma or GEDs.
Must have excellent attendance.
Ability to read policies & procedure manuals.
Ability to safety operate/use hand and power tools.
Ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, thickness gage, dial indicator etc.) Attention to detail.
Multi-task & be flexible with assignments.
Ability to train associates.
Must have general computer skills abilities in order to complete and/or update reports, orders etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Industrial Plant setting with exposure to temperature fluctuations (hot during summer months and cold during winter months) Required to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate to task and environment.
Consistently dusty and noisy work environment 100% of day spent standing, walking, bending, or squatting.
Must be able lift up to 50lbs at least 500 times a day Must be able to produce linear feet of material per shift.
This involves using hands and shoulder/elbow manipulation.
Must be able to work hour shifts and work weekends when necessary.
