HS&E MANAGER EMEA

Job Objective: The mission of this position is to effectively oversee and enhance Safety protocols and procedures and promote a Culture of Safety in all EMEA facilities, to prevent loss and achieve zero injuries of any kind (ZIAK) in compliance with all relevant acts and applicable Regulations where Velcro Companies operate. Additionally, the role is tasked with promoting sustainability by championing environmental initiatives, mitigating environmental risks and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.Primary Responsibilities: -      Participate in Velcro Companies Global Safety council: Collaborating closely with the Global Safety Leader and counterparts in other regions.-      Develop and implement policies and procedures: Create safety and environmental policies and procedures that comply with regulations and the company's objectives.-      Manage regulatory compliance: Ensure that the team complies with all safety and environmental regulations.-      Coordinate and lead the team: Supervise and lead the safety and environmental technicians, providing direction, training, and support.-      Conduct risk assessments: Identify and assess safety and environmental risks in the company's operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.-      Plan and execute internal audits: Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of safety and environmental programs.-      Supervise training programs: Implement safety and environmental training programs for employees, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective. Organize and lead quarterly Safety meetings for all employees.-      Investigate accidents and incidents: Lead investigations into safety and environmental accidents or incidents, identify causes, and propose corrective measures.-      Maintain KPIs and report: Document and keep records of incidents, preventive and corrective measures, and prepare reports for management, Global instances and regulatory authorities. -      Manage teams and resources: Oversee the allocation and maintenance of personal protective equipment, tools, and other resources necessary for safety and environmental purposes.-      Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with other departments to ensure the effective integration of safety and environmental policies across all operations.-      Promote a safety and environmental culture: Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness among employees, promoting safe and sustainable practices.-      Stay informed of regulatory and technological changes: Stay updated on changes in regulations, technologies, and best practices in safety and the environment, and make adjustments as necessary. Qualifications:-      University degree in engineering or business administration/management and  certification in Occupational Health and Safety-       5+ years demonstrated experience in Safety Management roles:o  Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures.o  Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.o  Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis-      Strong understanding of local and EU HS&E legislation and ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards to ensure workplace safety.Competences:-      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.o  To build and sustain relationships with the Team and stakeholderso  Ability to effectively communicate safety procedures and policies to employees at all levels of the organization.o  Experience conducting safety training sessions and workshops. -      Strong Leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate, train and develop teams, and active listening-      Problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions -      Sense of urgency & results oriented-      Proven analytical skills and data driven-      Hands-on person comfortable working closely on the shop floor-      Continuous improvement mindset and Lean tools knowledge is a plus-      Ability to prioritize and work in a multidisciplinary environment-      Languages: Catalan/Spanish & English (advanced level)
