HR SAFETY SPECIALIST

Por qué te necesitamos? What’s the job? As a Canadian HR/Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and fostering a healthy work environment within the organization.
Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of HR functions with a primary focus on safety measures, employee welfare, and regulatory adherence.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with Canadian regulatory standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
Coordinate safety training sessions for employees and managers to raise awareness and promote a culture of safety.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and authorities to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Stay updated on Canadian labor laws and regulations, ensuring all HR practices are compliant.
Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the selection process.
Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
Administer employee benefits programs and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, issues, and concerns.
Coordinate employee wellness programs and initiatives to promote physical and mental well-being in the workplace.
Facilitate employee development and training programs to enhance skills and career advancement opportunities.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures tailored to Canadian laws and organizational needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to safety incidents, HR transactions, and employee information.
Prepare reports and analysis related to HR metrics, safety performance, and compliance activities for management review.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations when handling sensitive employee information.
¿Es este trabajo para ti? What do you bring?   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field 4+ years proven experience in HR and safety management In-depth knowledge of Canadian labor laws, safety regulations, and best practices Proven experience in a Unionized Industry Proficiency in HRIS software and MS Office suite Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is Required Canadian Certified Health and Safety Professional (CHSP) is Preferred Canadian Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is Preferred  .
