Purpose of the role: This role is responsible of leading, defining and implementing the Car Rental Strategy according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth, as well as co-developing, implementing and communicating Car Rental goals and overall strategy.Define future Car Rental (& Carnect) vision and strategy that is complementary to the overall group strategy.Additionally, this role will have a particular focus on the implementation of Sourcing Strategy and delivery of targets of the overall Sourcing team ensuring excellence and efficiency in Contracting and Yielding operations.Responsibilities: Lead and develop team effectively to reach the specific targets and key business objectives across Car Rental.Set up a strong accountability mind- set by assisting and coaching the team members to develop their individual strategies through improving their skills, abilities and competencies.Partner closely with the different stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Technology, Operations and other Group areas) on efficient planning and execution of an strategic plans, having a clear understanding of the initiatives and targets by developing a clear guidance to drive and effectively implement our key strategic partnership programs across the area in charge.Deliver strong and solid engagement with Car Rental Suppliers and participate and attend key industry meetings that require Area leadership representation to negotiate together with the Contracting Manager focusing on top clients that drive biggest revenue.Help with solving any integration and operational issues related to Car Rental (Carnect) internal tools, systems or processes, in order to help the team to reach their goals.Scale the business further internationally with focus on Americas/APACDefine and realize scalable operating model, integration with the group / where possible / advantageousSkills: Strong influencing and negotiation skills, thriving in the creation and maintenance of successful long-term commercial relationships with suppliers and other stakeholdersProven ability to lead and mentor a team towards successful outcomesInnovation- identify emerging technologies and products and trial via third party partnerships/ commercial opportunitiesExperienced leader with proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment, with previous experience in Car Rental businessHighly developed communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skillsAbility to demonstrate & teach others a partnership approach to negotiation and salesKnowledge on IT including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet technologiesExcellent in English spoken and writtenExperience: Solid experience and commercial knowledge of the travel & hospitality industries, key competitors, industry issues and related technologyPrevious experience of contracting and negotiation with suppliersProven ability to build high achieving teamsProven ability to build strong internal and external relationships with individuals and industry partners using an open and consultative approachExperience and knowledge of understanding of the geographically region or similar way of contracting with suppliers+ 8- 10 years experienceQualifications: Bachelor's degree in business/economics or related field (or strong and relevant professional qualification). MBA PreferredNative or fluent English essential. Multilingual preferred.
