GAS TURBINES CONTROLS FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

A Snapshot of Your Day You will be responsible for the completion and management of maintenance activities of the company’s products through performing and supporting on site activities in partnership with the business, customer, and contractors in line with the site program.
How You’ll Make an Impact • Be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and providing technical support across the full range of Small Gas Turbines Products and Systems including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Take full responsibility for Environmental and H&S when on site and ensure control measures are in place in the field.
• Produce reports that support the activities undertaken.
• Work under own initiative with minimal supervision and provide our customers with the highest level of service possible.
• Continuously seek to contribute to the services provided which include remote diagnostic support services and training.
• Always aiming to achieve first time fix-solutions leading to reduced breakdown times and lower costs to the customer.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal support departments, co-ordinate service activities on customer sites to ensure compliance with rules/requirements.
• Technically demonstrate and explain issues and solutions with customers and end users.
• Feedback to relevant internal departments where issues persist on-site with SGT products and whenever practicable offer recommendations for improving product/documentation/warranty going forward.
• Supervising technical staff if needed during service&commissioning of units.
• Support other rotating equipment activities in case of need.
• To deliver the best quality service to our customers, our team is required to participate in the 24/7 support when required.
• Technical support to back-office staff.
What You Bring • A proven engineer, with an advanced apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Electrical maintenance and demonstrated ability with rotating equipment with a strong controls background.
Controls systems to include PCS7, ControlLogix, S7.
• Previous experience with Small Gas Turbines Products and Systems would be valuable.
• A flexible attitude to global travel is required, as you may be required to mobilize at short notice.
• Mechanical experience in Gas Turbines will be valued.
• Ability to work in offshore environments.
• Willingness to regular travel&work worldwide around 80% of the time and to be away from home for periods of time.
• Strong Teammate with excellent communication and team-working skills.
• Excellent customer focus and influential too, taking charge of teams in different countries – so you’ll be culturally aware as well.
• High commitment with our Zero-Harm culture.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT systems.
• Able to work on weekends and bank holidays if required including shift work.
• Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, based on project requirements.
• High level of English.
• Ability to perform well with limited supervision and under pressure/time constraints.
About the Team The Field Service team is focused on supporting the Small Gas Turbines, large Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Generators product line for Siemens Energy based in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain.
The emphasis is on global fleet maintenance and repair at our customer site.
To achieve this the team, undertake both reactive and pro-active planning to meet both short- and long-term customer requirements.
