About the Role We are actively seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Finance Business Partner for our ELL (English Language Learning) Division.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Product and Technology segments, utilizing your expertise in financial analysis and stakeholder management to drive success.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be at the forefront of supporting product and technology leadership within our ELL Division.
Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive support for product performance evaluation and investment appraisal.
You'll engage with various stakeholders predominately across product and technology but also sales, and marketing teams and work closely with the entire ELL and wider finance team to share insights, recommendations, and reports to support decision making, as well as undertaking ad hoc analyses and special projects as required.
This role will.
Assist in conducting thorough financial analyses, evaluating, and endorsing investment propositions for capital expenditure, which encompasses crafting business cases.
This involves guaranteeing that investment analyses adhere to Pearson's capital investment protocol, ensuring that capital investments yield anticipated returns and are in harmony with ELL's strategic direction.
Operate as a strategic business partner to key stakeholders within the ELL Product Management and Technology organisations by providing commercially focused insights that help manage the business effectively.
Provide financial support and direction to cross functional/inter divisional programs & profitability improvement initiatives.
Support the development of and maintain effective post-implementation reviews and performance management to ensure that post go-live performance meets expectation or actions are put in place to remediate accordingly.
Support Product & Tech Finance Director in annual long range planning activities, monthly reporting & forecast updates for the ELL division, providing critical inputs to the business planning and expenditure forecasting processes.
Manage project finance, including capital investment, spend tracking, capital investment capitalisation schedules, tracking hosting costs & amortization and partnering with business partners & cross functional finance teams to manage audit queries and provide accurate forecasting & reporting.
Work closely with the Sales Finance Team & product leads to support new business opportunities & tracking of new products as required.

To achieve this, you should have.
Demonstrable finance experience within a comparable complex organisation - Product and technology experience desirable but not essential.
Experience building internal and external business partnerships; develops and leverages key relationships to understand the needs and objectives of stakeholders.
Experience of using data modelling techniques for scenario planning to assess financial outcomes.
Understanding IFRS and corporate accounting policies and procedure.
Demonstrated experience in Financial Reporting and Analysis, Quality deliverable development, Business case creation & delivery.
Outstanding ability to communicate effectively across all levels, from leadership to staff.
Working in virtual teams and coordinating across other groups and COEs.
Strong commercial background with an analytical approach to problem solving.
Change management experience.
