He/she also contributes to the implementation of operational communication strategy in the mission according to MSF standards.
Considering the above, Field Communications Manager’s main tasks are focused on media alert, local media management, content diffusion, content production, internal communication as well as reporting.
Tasks & Duties Establish and maintain regular relations with key local media contacts to promote MSF agenda Maintain close contact and organise events with key local media Monitor and report on local media, flag significant articles, trends, news or reports of importance for MSF Supervise the production and edit local communication tools and products Raise the awareness of the field team about how to communicate and maintain the reputation of MSF in dealings with patients, staff and other key stakeholders Essential requirements University Degree in Journalist, Commumications or related field Previous working experience of at least four years in communications or journalism (preferably in a field context) Previous working experience in producing communication content & basic audio-visula skills (photo, video, editing) Social media knowledge and skills (including community management) Fluency in English with emphasis on high communication skills (oral and written) Advanced computer literacy Desirable requirements Professional experience supervising, managing or training staff Knowledge of other languages, in particular French and/or Arabic Previous international experience with INGOs, UN agencies, other humanitarian organisations, charities, etc.

Field workers will be fully informed of the risk associated with a potential mission before accepting a particular posting.

Once in the mission, all MSF staff must strictly observe security rules and regulations; failure to do so may result in dismissal.
