maybe this is your place!:) Your main mission as the Executive Pastry Chef, is to lead the bakery and dessert program across all outlets, ensuring JOIA's culinary vision shines through every sweet creation.
You uphold quality, champion innovation, and mentor a passionate pastry team—all within a values-driven framework.
As Executive Pastry Chef, What will your day-to-day work be like?.
Menu Development & Execution -Create signature desserts inspired by Aruban culture (Authenticity).
-Ensure flawless execution of pastries across all outlets with visual excellence (Excellence).
-Collaborate with culinary and F&B teams for cohesive dessert-driven guest experiences (Hospitality).
Production Management & Quality Control -Oversee daily production planning to meet demand without excess (Integrity, Sustainability).
-Manage costs, maintain yield targets, and reduce kitchen wastage (Sustainability).
-Maintain HACCP standards, allergen protocols, and kitchen cleanliness (Integrity).
Team Leadership & Staff Development -Inspire respect, accountability, and collaboration in the pastry brigade (Respect).
-Train team in advanced techniques (e.

tempering, sugar art, plating techniques) (Excellence).

Guest Engagement & Service -Participate in special events like dessert stations, tasting menus, or celebrations (Hospitality).
-Respond attentively to guest feedback; use insights to fine-tune offerings (Hospitality, Excellence).
Sustainability & Local Sourcing -Use local ingredients and seasonal produce to highlight Aruba’s flavors (Authenticity, Sustainability).
-Implement sustainable practices—reuse, compost, minimize single-use packaging (Sustainability).
Cross-Department Collaboration -Coordinate decorations, event timing, and delivery with FOH, events, and banquet teams (Hospitality).
-Partner with purchasing to source responsibly priced, quality ingredients (Integrity).
Requisitos Who is the ideal person for this position?.
Education.
Diploma or degree in Pastry Arts or equivalent culinary training.
Experience.
3+ years in high-end resort/hotel pastry kitchens, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
Expertise.
Mastery of tempering, sugar work, baking science, plating, and modern dessert craft.
Language Skills.
Fluent in English and Spanish or Papiamento a plus.
Technical Skills.
Deep knowledge of food safety, inventory control, and dessert costing.
Leadership.
Proven ability to recruit, train, and inspire pastry staff.
