As a Director of Travel Industry, you will be responsible for managing the property’s positioning in the individual leisure market. Besides, you will be responsible for creating and strengthening excellent relationships with key players within the Travel Industry Luxury Market to ensure annual objectives are met. As a brand ambassador, you will have to be a role model and you will sustain our InterContinental Life everywhere you travel to.Reports directly to the Director of Commercial.Your day-to-dayBuild long-lasting relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Attend activities including sales calls, events, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.Provide excellent customer sales service to grow the share of the account.Responsible for managing the hotel’s individual leisure market.Understand the overall luxury market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, business trends, supply, and demand – and know how to sell against them.Identify improvements to the overall hotel sales performance by working closely with the sales team, as well as with other departments.Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence…)Execute the brand´s customer service standards throughout the sales process.Assist the Director of Commercial in the creation and implementation of sales plans that drive revenue to achieve segment-specific objectives in addition to general departmental objectives (ADR, Occupancy, etc)Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share, and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.Create and develop special events and sales blitzes to showcase the hotel to potential clients. Attend local, national & international trade shows and major market events to promote new business and increase sales and marketing opportunities for the hotel.Control all costs incurred in any sales actions held for your specific segment.Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create a sense of one team.Get involved and support different CSR initiatives held by the hotel.Ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we must pull together to get a task done. What we need from youBachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in business administration, sales, hotel management, or other related fields. Four or more years of experience in hospitality or hotel sales. Availability to travel is requiredAt least 3 years of experience, handling high-end leisure for a 5* luxury property is a must.Strong knowledge of Travel Industry luxury Consortia and luxury business trends required.
