CONSULTANT HISTOPATHOLOGIST, IRELAND

Location.

€ p/a We are looking for a Consultant Histopathologist to work in University Hospital Waterford.

Key Responsibilities.
Deliver high-quality diagnostic histopathology services, including autopsy work.
Contribute to teaching and supervision of pathology trainees and medical students.
Support multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) and national screening programmes.
Lead and support quality assurance, audits, and INAB accreditation efforts.
Engage in clinical research and continuous service improvement.
Work collaboratively with hospital management and clinical leads.
Essential Requirements.
Specialist registration with the Medical Council of Ireland in Histopathology (or eligible within 180 days of interview).
Proven experience in diagnostic histopathology including autopsy and screening services.
Teaching and audit experience; ability to support postgraduate training and research.
Strong communication and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
Willingness to provide on-call cover and travel as required.
Desirable.
Subspecialty interest in Gastrointestinal, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, or Urological Pathology.
Experience in clinical governance, laboratory accreditation (ISO ), and quality improvement.
