TransPerfect Legal is expanding our AI capabilities to address our clients' needs in eDiscovery and other related areas, by pioneering innovative solutions that tackle complex business challenges head-on. As part of the Artificial Intelligence team (AI team), the Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer will work with experts in the technologies to develop new solutions (products) to satisfy the needs of our clients. We are seeking a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer, Legal Technology, to join our Legal Technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, design, implementation, and support of legal technology AI solutions, focusing on tasks such as categorization, classification, and data management. Previous experience with LLMs (Large Language Models), Vector Store Databases, and scaling technologies is highly desired. Experience with legal technology is not required but is a strong plus. The role involves close collaboration with the Quality Assurance (QA) team during the development process and providing support to the Support team in investigating customer issues, troubleshooting, and delivering bug fixes.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement AI solutions for legal technology applications, with a focus on categorization, classification, data exploration, and data management.Utilize expertise in LLMs, Vector Store Databases, and scaling technologies to develop robust and scalable AI solutions.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, identify opportunities for AI integration, and ensure alignment with business objectives.Work closely with the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of AI solutions through comprehensive testing and validation processes.Provide technical support to the Support team in investigating customer issues, diagnosing problems, and delivering timely bug fixes and enhancements.Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in AI and legal technology to continuously improve the team's capabilities and drive innovation.Contribute to the documentation of software design, implementation, and maintenance processes to ensure clarity and consistency. Diverse duties include analysis, design, development, maintenance, and support of complex applications, web services, and RESTful Web services and APIs.Assume ownership of the existing code base, including the development of new features, bug fixes, and hot patchesWork with the technical writers to develop user guidesBe proactive in suggesting enhancements to all AI team solutions and processesRequired Skills:Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experienceAt least 3 years of experience in AI/ML software development.Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and C#, and familiarity with relevant libraries and frameworks for AI development.Experience with Transformer Models, LLMs (Large Language Models), Vector Store Databases, and scaling technologies such as distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Databricks[FB1] , Apache Spark, and Kubernetes) is highly desired.Solid understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile practices.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Desired Experience and Skills:Interest in natural language processing, legal technology, GenAI, and machine learning.Full-stack development skills.Experience in designing artificial intelligence solutions.Training or Experience in DevOps (private or public cloud)Training or Experience using code repositories (ex. GIT) and automation servers (ex.
