Context And Mission   The Computer Sciences (CS) department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center aims at carrying out research and development to influence the way computing machines are built, programmed, and used.
The Workflows and Distributed Computing group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center aims at carrying out research on programming models for distributed computing.
More specifically, this group owns the parallel programming model PyCOMPSs/COMPSs (compss.
sc.
s) which is a task-based, parallel programming model offered to the project applications as a means to execute them in distributed environments.
One of the latest features added to COMPSs is the ability to generate Workflow Provenance (i.
.
metadata), so it can later be used for reproducibility of results, governance, knowledge extraction, traceability and more.
The group is looking for a part-time research engineer (RE1) to carry on the Workflow Provenance next developments.
