As an AI/ML Engineering Expert, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building AI-powered products that revolutionize how hotels manage and improve their sustainability practices.Have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on AI/ML.Have hands-on experience designing and building data models / recommender systems. Knowledge of a specific technology is not importantHave the ability to create fast, easy-to-use, production-ready AI-powered solutions, and develop and evolve (or discard) prototypes quickly.Know how to utilize advanced AI/ML techniques to analyze dataHave proven experience with data visualization tools to present insight efficientlyMaster anomaly detection, and predictive modeling techniquesCan translate data analysis into actionable programs and business strategiesCan collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute sustainability plans based on AI-driven insights. Specifically, you would work directly with the engineering team to implement real solutions with the models you envision and develop.Have a strong background in computer vision and/or natural language processing, or can get up to speed in these fields in no-time.Stay up to date on the state-of-the-art regarding ML and AIHave strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailHave excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.Experience in business development and identifying growth opportunities is a plus.Prior experience in the sustainability or hospitality industry is a plus.In the first month, you will:Meet the whole teamLearn our data model and architecture and deeply understand the problem domainTest your first models / solutions with known scenarios and start creating recommendations, documents, insights, etc.Do an introductory master-class where you catch up the rest of the team on the state-of-the-art about AI / ML and how it can be applied at EcostarsWithin the first 3 months, you will:With the help of the Engineering team, ship to production the first AI-based features.Lay out a plan of how AI / ML will drive Ecostars’ business and technological roadmap.Determine where we should put our efforts regarding AI / ML.Within the first 6 months, you will:Make sure the company has a nuanced understanding of ML, what we can / can’t do with it.With the help of the Engineering team, make sure we have a data-first architecture and development culture that facilitates new inputs for your models. Start training models specific for our domain and replace out-of-the-box solutions with said models where necessary.Lay out a publishing strategy for any whitepapers that results of your research.Lead any grant application related to your research work (i.e. when applicable to AI / ML).The stackWe use these tools because we think they're the best fit for tackling our product challenges.
