EML Business provides training and consultancy services for the IBM Cognos TM1 software.

For the last 6 years EML Business Ltd has been providing Consultancy services for Business Intelligence (BI) and Planning Analytics (PA) tools to a wide range of clients within the Banking and Insurance Industry such as Hastings Direct, Direct Line, Lloyds Bank and UBS among many others. The main development tools deployed and configured to the clients are IBM Cognos TM1, Planning Analytics and IBM Cognos Controller.

•	TM1 model design and implementation including the development of cubes, rules, feeders and TI processes as required. 

As well as the tasks listed above, I have developed the following TM1 Applications:

Updated Budget Model:
The updated Budget Model includes a workflow process to enable the business to keep track of the progress made within the budget process. Email notification and Error tracking was added to support the load of income data into the model.

TM1 Developer / Architect for the FP&A and Reporting Team at Miller Insurance, my main responsibilities are to:

•	Complete a review of the existing TM1 server architecture and propose changes to align the system to best practices and ensure server stability. 

•	Identify critical areas to enhance the Financial Reporting model within TM1 and introduce the changes required to adjust the system to the existing Business requirements. 

•	Align IT and Reporting teams during the release of changes across multiple systems, to ensure visibility and coordination among all the parties involved. 

•	Create a Forecast version to enable the business to compare current performance against Actuals and Budget. And creating a static Forecast version - i.e. 6+6 Forecast, 8+4 Forecast - to compare against Actual and Budget versions at different stages of the financial year. 

•	Review existing Budget model and propose and complete changes to align the TM1 Model with the existing business requirements.

•	TM1 model design and implementation including the development of cubes, rules, feeders and TI processes as required. 

As well as the tasks listed above, I have developed the following TM1 Applications:

Updated Budget Model:

TM1 Developer / Architect for the One View P&L Reporting Team at UBS Bank, my main responsibilities were to:

•	Create Jiras to fix and or implement changes to the Murex model.
  
•	Regular BAU Support to the TM1 models and apply changes required.

•	Design cubes, TI processes and rules to adjust the existing TM1 model according to the business requirements. 

•	Complete a review of the Murex model and propose changes to reduce locking contentions, loading time, and improve the Leak report output time in Cognos BI.

As well as the tasks listed above, I have developed the following TM1 application:

Focus Model
In this model the loading, calculating and reporting tasks are separated into 3 different sections (input, staging and reporting) to ensure they are processed independently. The data is loaded from a SQL database into TM1 cubes using TI processes and subsequently move to the staging area using rules. In the staging area is where all the Leak Calculations are performed and the output is copied into the reporting area on demand combining the TI processes and the Artemis queue job. The reporting cubes do not include any rules as all of the calculations are performed in the staging area. The output of the Leak report in BI is now more efficient, as it is only pulling data from the reporting cubes without querying any calculated cells within TM1.

	TM1 Developer / Architect for the Stress Test PRA submission team at 			             Lloyds Banking group, my main responsibilities were to:

•	Update and build the Stress Test model scenarios in line with the PRA requirements.
  
•	Produce PRA Templates with the reconciliation between Internal and External data completed.
  
•	Support BAU environment and implement change request resolutions.
  
•	Develop TM1 front ends, reports and templates. 
  
•	TM1 model design including the development of cubes, rules, feeders and TI processes.

TM1 Developer / Architect for the Business and Finance (B&F) team at 				Direct Line Group, my main responsibilities were to:
			
•	Create a Budgeting & Forecasting reporting model to incorporate the Mid-Term Cancellations into the overall existing Forecasting model. 
  
•	Complete the Gross Earning calculations for the overall business, and calculate the impact of the Cancelled From Inception (CFI) and the Mid-term Cancelled (MTC) policies into the Forecasting model. 
  
•	Support BAU environment and implement change request resolutions.
  
•	Develop TM1 front ends, reports and templates. 
  
•	TM1 model design including the  development of cubes, rules , feeders and TI processes.

	As well as the tasks listed above, I have developed the following TM1 Applications:

BF Personal Lines model:
The Budget and Forecasting model includes a process flow into which users from  the Personal Lines business teams are able to contribute into the overall reporting process at different points of the Budgeting and Forecasting cycle. It includes load processes, cubes, complex calculations and different layers of security. The model is split into three different areas, in order to separate the data input from the staging and reporting sections. Also it includes a static version process to enable the business to have a static record of the Budgeting & Forecasting developments at different stages of the submission process. 

Payment Pattern application:
The Payment Pattern model ensures that the double entry transactions between Balance Sheet (BS) and Profit & Loss (P&L) are posted accurately, and the payments against the Cash Account (BS) are processed in the corresponding Payment Pattern established by the business. The model also contains a separate section to incorporate the IPT charge percentage over the premium and a reconciliation area to ensure that the Cash Transactions reconcile with the P&L and BS movements.
