As editor in the English section of the bilingual department at SM, my role includes many functions, such as editing educational textbooks aimed at Spanish learners of English. This includes translation and adaptation of Spanish texts to English, liaising with authors of new material, setting layout, writing artwork briefs in Spanish, storyboarding for videos, image selection, providing content of interactive activities and correction of final proofs. I am an experienced user of editing software (InCopy), image archiving software (FLAI) and file storage software (Woodwing – Content Station) and the full Microsoft Office suite of software. I have also performed English language voice-overs.

feb 2013 - ene 2016
I moved to Madrid in February of 2013 in order to study Spanish in its native country. In order to be useful while living in Madrid, I enrolled with an agency called MyFamilyAbroad.com who placed me first with a family in Fuenlabrada, in the south of Madrid, and then with a couple in Arturo Soria, in the centre, as a live-in English teacher. These placements lasted six months in total and made me realise my appetite and skill for English teaching. I then gave private English classes as well as doing proof reading and translation work. I had up to twenty students from as young as 8 years old up to adults. This gave me a great insight into the methods and levels of English teaching in Madrid.

Otros datos
I am a UK citizen now living and working in Madrid as a self-employed editor and translator for one of Spain’s largest educational publishers.
I previously worked at an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and Financial Health Category ‘A’ college as Management Accountant. In September 2012 I qualified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Having completed the examination part of the CIMA qualification in December 2011, I decided to begin learning Spanish, a long-held ambition, and then moved to Spain in February 2013 in order to achieve my goal. I speak and write Spanish at an advanced level.
In my free time I love to read and listen to music.
