Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) Paris France
oct 2021 - Actualmente
Currently, I am working at the Dynamic Meteorology Laboratory (LMD) of the Institute Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL), Paris (France), in the frame of the project "Residential emission and air-quality modeling in French cities under climate change and energy transition conditions". This research is part of the BATENQUE project funded by the PRIMEQUAL program and the 2019 Call “QUALITÉ DE L’AIR, CHANGEMENT CLIMATIQUE, ÉNERGIE”. Researchers from three labs of the IPSL (LMD, LATMOS and LISA) and the CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique des Bâtiments) are involved in the project and will participate in the follow up of this research.
research
University of Shkodra, Shkoder, Albania
jul 2017 - sep 2021
As a member of the Department of Physics at University of Shkodra (Albania), working as a post-doctorate in the Special Laboratory of this department. In 2012, I have defended my PhD thesis, which was focused mostly on aerosol research. During my doctoral studies, I worked with the problems regarding atmospheric electricity, aerosols and atmospheric cluster ions. During this experience, I worked also with the radiation related problems. Principal instruments used during this period were the in-situ instruments, like ion and aerosol counters, aerosol spectrometers, dust monitors, weather stations, etc.

Universidad de Vigo
sep 2016 - jun 2017
The work at the Environmental Physics Laboratory at Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Vigo (Spain) was dedicated to the assessment of the aerosol events of the coarse mode over the whole European continent. The study was based on the database of the BSC-DREAM8b model, which was implemented for a 9-year period. Moreover, the nearby desert regions were investigated too. The annual cycles, inter-annual trends, intrusion scenarios, patterns, climatology, case studies and more were performed for the aerosol optical depth and emission rates over the investigated regions. The European continent was divided into 12 sectors, while the desert regions into 4 sectors. Also, additional tools, like AERONET and satellite products, but also HYSPLIT forecasts were used to validate the model outputs. The manuscript produced in this study is in the review stage in the Atmospheric Research journal.
research
Institute of Geophysics, Warsaw, Poland
sep 2015 - oct 2015
The experience at the Institute of Geophysics (IGF) at University of Warsaw (Poland), was related with the analysis of aerosol events and more precisely biomass burning products based on the polarization outputs of the Strzyzow AERONET station. Because of its higher aerosol load, a summer season period Jun–Aug 2015 was selected for investigation. The analyses are focused on the degree of polarization (DOLP) dependencies on Solar Zenith Angle (SZA) and Zenithal Viewing Angle (ZVA) at six different wavelengths, from 0.44 to 1.64 μm as well on the aerosol optical properties like aerosol optical depth and Angstrom exponent. The study was published in the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar–Terrestrial Physics.
research
Universidad Poltitecnica de Cataluna, Barcelona, Spain
jun 2014 - ago 2014
The work at the Andalusian Inter-University Institute for Earth System Research in Granada, and Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona (Spain), was related mostly to the assessment of desert dust intrusions over the Iberian Peninsula and the altering optical/microphysical aerosol properties during the dust transport. Analyses of the characteristics and the patterns of dust intrusions were based on the lidar and sunphotometer data taken from the EARLINET and AERONET stations in Granada and Barcelona. Moreover, satellite products of MODIS were used there. Aerosol event forecasts from the models NAAPS and BSC-DREAM8b were used too, whilst the HYSPLIT4 model was used to determine the trajectories of air masses. The study was published in two IF journals; Atmospheric Research and Atmospheric Environment.

oct 2013 - nov 2013
The work in the Department of Physics at University of Milan (Italy) was related with the theoretical interpretation of the balance equation between cluster atmospheric ions and ultrafine aerosol particles. The theoretical model introduced there was confirmed by the monitoring process of the concentrations of cluster ions and aerosol particles, radon gas and meteorological parameters, carried out in the SMEARII station in Hyytiälä, Finland. The study was presented in the Congress of the Italian Aerosols Society (IAS).

Principal skills are related to analytics, database, statistics, environmental studies, air pollution monitoring, aerosol research, atmospheric sciences, urban air quality, emission assessment, general physics teaching, acoustic pollution, electromagnetic exposure, medical radiation protection, etc.
My scientific publication activity contains about 48 articles (40 as first author) in peer review journals, 54 conference presentations (35 as first author), 8 first author conference proceeding reports, 22 review articles and 9 funded research projects. My collaboration network consists of 20 international Research Institutions and Universities, of which with 37 researchers.
Over the past years, I have taught a variety Physics courses, especially those related to Atmospheric and Environmental Physics. My primary research goals are directed toward the study of atmospheric and environmental problems, especially those related to the Air Pollution and Aerosol Research. I have obtained the PhD in 2012 at the University of Tirana, with the main subject on Atmospheric Sciences.
As a post-doctoral fellow, I have worked in multidisciplinary fields of research; from aerosol research to remote sensing methods related to atmospheric problems. My international experiences include the scholarships at several universities. Also, the flexibility and adaptivity to work in different environments and working in teams having good communication skills is part of my working abilities. Scientific thinking and presentation abilities are developed thanks to the research publication and conference participations.
