Offshore Product owner is an entry level role and a great way to break into product.
Working in an assistant-like position with other Product Owners, an APO is given a variety of smaller tasks to assist with product development.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership.
• Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
• Develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the agile software development team.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
• Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders • Should be able to identify user needs, help a customer understand a business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.
• Drive the business requirements with the business stakeholders into a product backlog.
• Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories that are ready for implementation.
• Document business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications to aid in the development of new business products, solutions, or processes.
• Knows how to take an original idea from concept to an actual product • Works very closely with developers, UX designers and capable to influence them.
• Works towards an outcome defined goal and product value with agile teams.
• Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills • Digital perspective • A passionate commitment to user-centred design and development Must have technical / professional qualifications.
• Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience (2-6 years of experience) • Previous experience as a product owner is not a must.
• Basic software development knowledge.
