The customer for this freelance contract is a global company with around 65,000 employees. They are headquartered in the US and operate across three main regions; US, APAC & EMEA. You will be working with the EMEA Database team on this contract. Role: MS SQL Database AdministratorStart: 15/05/2024Renewal date: 30/09/2024Contract duration estimate: 6 months (has already been going 3 months)Location: Barcelona, SpainLanguages required: English only, international teamTeam size: 30 people (EMEA team)Hybrid model: 2 or 3 days per week in an ADP office (Barcelona)ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:BAU:Support SQL database servers in EMEA (incident, change, migration, DRP), Troubleshoot, investigate and provide root cause analysis for related database issueSetup and manage SQL server high availability solution (log-shipping, replication, mirroring, cluster, AlwaysOn).Plan and support database backup/recovery and disaster recovery policy of databases in high availability environment.ENGINEERING: To work within a Global DBA team made of experts on Database & automation to contribute to the development of Self service portalsAutomation of repetitive and manual tasks like Installation, patch, Migration, ...)Studies (technology watch)TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREDDatabases: SQL Server (2008-2019) Nice to have: Any of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, HadoopReplication Tools
