Software Development Manager
Do you want to build tools and services that fundamentally improve the development experience for your fellow software developers? The RBKS Developer Experience (DevX) team is looking for passionate software development managers to help transform the way our customers improve, write, execute and test software. We develop frameworks and services that enable teams to improve the quality of their products through testing and feedback at every stage of the software lifecycle. We make best practices the path of least resistance. Our tools are automated, intelligent, ubiquitous and wherever possible we automatically perform actions on behalf of our customers/software engineers.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will need to:

- Set a vision for your team and create product roadmaps

- Be a great people manager, motivating and coaching your diverse team

- Work with engineers to define technical and product requirements and priorities

- Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout the product life cycle, influencing best practices for your own team and for your customers

- Build and maintain delightful customer experience and operational excellence for your products

- Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about leading a team of engineers focused on creating solutions for developers, with a strong desire to enhance their daily work and act as a multiplier for other teams. You have experience collaborating with other development teams and managers as your customers, are capable of owning mission-critical code in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment where priorities change rapidly, and consistently consider the broader impact your team can have. You enjoy solving challenging problems relating to the use of automation at scale, development best practices, and more.

About the team

Our mission is to enhance the developer experience at RBKS, enabling engineers to create loveable products and features for our customers. We provide tools, data, and infrastructure that will reduce the time to get code from developers to customer devices whilst ensuring operational excellence, by reducing friction during coding and providing greater device health visibility. Our vision is to develop a suite of tools that seamlessly integrate across the entire development lifecycle, from desktop to production. These tools will enable pre-hardware development and a smooth transition to on-device testing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience in engineering team management

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

- Experience in engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
