Your primary responsibility will be to manage engineering teams to build and maintain the platform that supports the money movement of our industry leading payment engine moving hundreds of millions everyday.This role is based in Spain; the majority of our engineering team in Spain are based out of our Valencia office. However, as a remote-first business, we are able to hire for this role anywhere across Spain.As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you'll be overseeing various teams and in charge of designing new functionalities and improving the current capabilities to improve speed, cost and scalability of our product. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, pragmatic design, building quality products and to convey the sensation that the product is the responsibility of all the team is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality code in a team defined timeframe.Manage and support daily activities of engineering managers and oversee their respective teamsTrack success of engineering managers and underlying team based on established goals and objectivesEstablish objectives and work plans as well as propose strategies to upper managementDevelop solutions and execution strategies where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of business objectivesWork with customers concerning project requirements, operational decisions, and/or contractual clarifications as neededPlay a strong technical role on projects and set priorities for the team to ensure task completionWork on issues of limited scope with the ability to find and execute solutions to routine problemsReview and analyze code to identify areas for improvement, ensuring the attainment of clean, high-quality, testable, secure, and maintainable codeWork on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Provide estimates, track progress, assess risk and manage the time of team membersExercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsPartake in the recruitment process by identifying and exciting great talentUnderstand scalability and performance status and make improvementsDrive change and improvement in all phases of the development lifecycleEnsure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applicationsContribute to the product vision by collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholdersDemonstrate strong project management skills and successful completion of projectsShow the ability to achieve results across organizations and geographiesQualificationsHere’s What We’re Looking For:15 years of experience in application development5 years of managing and developing engineering teamsExperience in designing, developing and supporting scalable, performant and reliable services and distributed systemsProduct oriented mindsetPrior experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure etc.Understanding of relational databases Strong understanding of object-oriented fundamentalsGreat understanding of the other disciplines in the cross functional team: QAs, Product and SREsFluent in English, as it is the company’s working language Experience in FinTech or the payment industry will be appreciatedThe ability to deliver high quality code and learn quicklyOutstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams including product and supportTechnologies We UseRuby or Java ReactJavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 System management: Linux, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Sidekiq, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch,Machine LearningCloud platform: AWSOur CultureWe are a global company.
