As a Backend Developer specializing in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions to ensure high performance and reliability in enterprise-level deployments.
Your role involves implementing custom AEM components, templates, services, and workflows tailored to evolving business requirements.
You will also design and develop RESTful APIs and integrations with external systems such as CRMs, DAMs, ERPs, and other third-party platforms.
Ensuring code quality through best practices in maintainability, security, and documentation will be crucial across the entire software development lifecycle.
You will develop production-grade features focused on delivering low-defect, high-quality solutions within established timelines and provide expert-level production support by resolving complex backend issues in both development and live environments.
The role also includes seamlessly integrating AEM with existing enterprise systems while optimizing backend performance for high-traffic scenarios.
Additionally, you will mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and contribute to architectural discussions.
Your responsibilities will further include contributing to solution architecture decisions related to data modeling, caching strategies, workflow optimization, and validating standard delivery practices.
Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and successful project delivery.
Professional with over 5 years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years specifically with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.
or higher).
Strong proficiency in Java, OSGi frameworks, JCR repositories, Sling, and RESTful web services.
Proven experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining AEM environments both on-premises and in cloud infrastructure.
Solid understanding of integration patterns, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and enterprise security best practices.
Skilled in building AEM/CQ5 components (templates, dialogs, bundles), with familiarity in TouchUI and HTML (Sightly).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and version control using Git.
Knowledge of JCR API, Apache Felix, DAM, and Cloud Manager is advantageous.
Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in AEM Sites is a plus.
Fluent in English for effective communication in global teams.
