The Senior AI/ML Program Manager is a senior individual contributor who orchestrates the full AI/ML program lifecycle for Welocalize’s AI/MT service offerings.
Acting as both a customer‑facing SME and an internal program leader, the role scopes new opportunities, aligns cross‑functional teams, and drives the preparation, training, deployment and continuous improvement of machine‑generated translation engines within traditional and Gen‑AI–enabled localization workflows.
Core Tasks & Responsibilities Program Leadership for AI/ML Initiatives – Define program charters, schedules, and governance models; ensure projects within the AI/ML portfolio deliver on scope, time, budget, and quality.
Customer‑Facing SME & Strategic Advisor – Partner with Sales during pre‑sales to scope opportunities, propose platform strategies, and provide ongoing, data‑driven recommendations after launch.
Portfolio & Roadmap Management – Maintain an AI/ML roadmap, prioritize backlogs, and sequence releases to maximize impact and resource utilization.
NLP & Data Engineering Oversight – Guide teams in cleaning TMs/data, preparing corpora, training, fine‑tuning, and deploying MT/LLM engines; monitor quality and iterate.
Coordinates Across Departments – Collaborate daily with Solutions, AI/ML Engineering, Localization Production, and Business Teams to align technical solutions with customer and operational requirements.
Evaluates & Measures Impact – Track financial and quality KPIs to quantify ROI, surface insights, manage risk, and prioritize continuous improvements.
Facilitates Knowledge Sharing & Change Management – Organize workshops, write best‑practice playbooks, and mentor peers to foster a culture of continuous AI innovation.

Requirements CategoryMinimum Expectations EducationBSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience5 + years in engineering with a focus on NLP or AI/ML; experience managing complex, cross‑functional technical programs.
Localization and project‑management exposure advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge• Advanced Python plus TensorFlow, PyTorch, or spaCy.• Hands‑on experience with GPT‑4, Llama 2, or similar models in production.• Ability to translate business goals into AI solution designs, roadmaps, and clear metrics.• Strong program‑management skills.
