You will maintain a vigilant watch over the vessel's safety systems, identifying potential hazards, and taking necessary actions to mitigate them.
You'll work closely with the Master to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, safeguarding the vessel's smooth operation while maintaining high safety standards.

Your Journey So Far We are looking for a Safety Officer with a proven track record in maritime safety and security.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualities.
1.
Proven Maritime Safety Experience.
A strong background in maritime safety, ideally with experience working aboard cruise ships or other large vessels.
This includes familiarity with safety management systems, emergency procedures, and safety inspections.
2.
Certified Qualifications.
Holding a valid and recognized Certificate of Competency IMO STCW Cap II/2, ensuring you are fully qualified to take on this critical role.
3.
Leadership in Safety Initiatives.
Experience in leading safety-related training programs and ensuring crew members are fully prepared for any safety drills or emergencies.
You'll have demonstrated your ability to guide others in adhering to safety protocols.
4.
Emergency Response Expertise.
You should have the capacity to act decisively during emergencies, ensuring the swift and efficient evacuation or resolution of any safety issues that arise on board.
5.
Bridge Watch and Navigational Duty Experience.
Competence in standing bridge watches and performing navigational duties as required, maintaining the vessel's operational safety during regular and emergency conditions.
6.
Clear Communication Skills.
Excellent communication skills to relay safety-related information to the Master, crew, and passengers.
The ability to clearly convey instructions and updates during high-stress situations is essential Your Essentials To be successful in this role, you must hold the following qualifications and meet these essential requirements.
1.
Valid and recognized Certificate of Competency IMO STCW Cap II/2.
2.
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
3.
Experience in maritime safety, with a strong understanding of emergency procedures and safety management systems.
4.
Ability to maintain bridge watches and navigational duties when required.
5.
Demonstrated leadership ability to manage safety-related training and initiatives onboard.
6.
Exceptional communication skills, both in relaying safety information and collaborating with the Master, crew, and passengers.
7.
Ability to respond to emergencies efficiently, ensuring the safety of all individuals on board.
