Job Description Summary Gearboxes Repair Technician will be responsible for Mechanical disassembly, inspection and assembly of Wind Gearboxes.

Exchange Bearings and gears as per engineering drawings and remanufacturing specifications Be able to perform standard mechanical assembly procedures, perform rework, and repair of gearbox components and systems to drawing specifications Downtower in the repair shop or Uptower in the Wind Turbine.
Repair and Assembly of WTG 750KW, MW and 2.
MW turbines.
Maintain proper handling of GE tools and equipment.
Occasionally required to work in tight areas, ladders, scissor lift, greater than 4m high off ground.
Occasionally required to perform repair operations uptower Possess thorough knowledge and ability to use all tools associated with assembling units according to required specifications.

Read and understand mechanical layout, engineering drawings Follow all EH&S guidelines and policies Follow good environmental practices and waste management procedures.
Segregate waste in the pertinent containers at the Repair Hall.
Possess thorough knowledge and ability to use CNC equipment to regrind gears, rings and covers.
Qualifications/Requirements Mechanical or Electrical School Diploma Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Wind Gearbox Repair Shop Certified in the use of lifting equipment, such as overhead and wall cranes, as well as lifting methods and practices by using appropriate slings, chains, hooks, etc..
Trained on Bearings assembly practices, including clearance and preload calculation.
Trained in the use of sealing and adhesives for bearings assembly Trained in hoses manufacturing and testing.
Training on tightening practices and tools.
Training on CNC.
