IMDEA Materials has grown rapidly since its foundation and currently includes more than 120 researchers from 22 nationalities and has become one of the leading research centers in materials in Europe which has received the María de Maeztu seal of excellence from the Spanish government.
The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials.

Description The project involves developing functional nanostructured electrocatalysts for water electrolysis to produce green hydrogen, some of the research activities can be seen in a recent account article.

c The focus of the project will be the design, synthesis, and advanced characterization of novel materials, and the investigation of their electrocatalytic activities for HER or OER Investigation of catalysts under operando conditions using advanced spectroscopic techniques.
Requirements A Ph.
.
in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science, obtained within the last four years.
Strong knowledge of nanostructured material synthesis and hands-on experience with electrocatalysis and electrochemical measurement techniques.
Experience in single-atom catalysis, operando electrochemical Raman microscopy, and synchrotron-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy are advantageous.
Excellent teamwork skills and strong communication abilities in English.
Conditions Full-time commitment (39 hours per week) with a competitive fellowship.
Initial contract duration of one year, with the possibility of renewal.
