NIQ is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Research Science to lead a high-performing, cross-functional team of machine learning engineers and research scientists.
In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI and Generative AI solutions that power NIQ’s next-generation products.
You will oversee a team of talented professionals working across research, engineering, and productization, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming advanced AI research into scalable, real-world applications that deliver measurable business impact.
Responsibilities.
Lead and manage a cross-functional team of Engineers, Data Scientists and Research Scientists.
Define team strategy, set priorities, and align AI/GenAI initiatives with broader organizational goals.
Oversee the full lifecycle of AI/GenAI projects—from research and prototyping to deployment and optimization.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and high performance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their growth and development.
Collaborate with product managers, data teams, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable AI solutions.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable AI systems and services.
Promote responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and ethical considerations.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain NIQ’s leadership in AI innovation.
Qualifications Qualifications.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field (Ph.
.
preferred).
8+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proven experience leading large-scale AI projects from conception to deployment, including cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
Proven experience managing cross-functional AI teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects.
Strong technical background in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI (e.
., LLMs, diffusion models).
Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), MLOps, and scalable data pipelines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
