Leading the payments sector, our team has been innovating for over 13 years to offer the best payment experience to thousands of businesses and merchants.The roleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal & Data Protection Officer (DPO)Director to join our organization.This role will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance, managing corporate governance, and safeguarding the organization's data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice, guide business decisions, and oversee data protection efforts, ensuring that the company operates within the boundaries of law and ethics.Key Responsibilities:Legal Director Responsibilities:Legal Compliance: Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the organization's interests.Corporate Governance: Provide strategic legal counsel to the executive team and the board of directors, ensuring adherence to corporate governance principles.Risk Management: Identify legal risks and propose appropriate actions to mitigate these risks, safeguarding the organization from legal liabilities.Litigation Management: Manage legal disputes and liaise with external counsel when necessary, representing the organization effectively in legal proceedings.Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the industry and ensure that the organization adapts its policies and procedures accordingly.Data Protection Officer (DPO) Responsibilities:Data Protection: Develop, implement, and manage data protection policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.).Privacy Impact Assessments: Conduct privacy impact assessments for new projects and initiatives, ensuring privacy and data protection considerations are integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations.Data Security: Oversee data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and incident response plans, to safeguard sensitive information.Training and Awareness: Educate employees on data protection policies and procedures, fostering a culture of data privacy awareness within the organization.Regulatory Liaison: Act as the point of contact between the organization and regulatory authorities regarding data protection matters, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of data breaches if they occur.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies developed in Spain.DPO Cerification.At least 3 years of proven experience as a Legal Manager / Director with DPO responsibilities.More than 3 years of contract review and creation.Proficiency in legal research methods, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.Ethical, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information with professionalism.What we offerPermanent contract.Salary Range: 35-45kFlexibility and conciliation (flexible remote and/or office work)Highly talented & international teamPayComet S.L.U guarantees that both the selection processes and the people involved in the matters (both recruiters and project managers) will not discriminate against the candidacy due to age, disability, ethnicity, marital status, gender, nationality, political ideology, race, religion or sexual orientation.
