Job Title: Lead Cloud EngineerCompany Type: End ClientEmployment Type: Full-TimeWork Arrangement: Remote in SpainContract Type: Direct hire with our clientWhat You’ll Be DoingAs a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining, building, and scaling our global cloud platform—starting from a greenfield foundation. Operating in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, you will influence how cloud technologies are adopted, governed, and optimized across the enterprise.Your mission is to design and lead the implementation of a resilient, secure, and cost-effective cloud ecosystem. You’ll work cross-functionally to embed best practices, enforce cloud security, and implement automation across infrastructure and operations.You will also play a critical role in building and leading a newly forming team as part of a department in recovery mode, offering the unique opportunity to build the cloud platform and the team around you.Your RoleAct as a technical and strategic leader, spearheading a greenfield platform build.Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of cloud services ensuring high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.Build and manage a new 5-person cloud engineering team (including senior, mid, and junior engineers), mentoring talent and fostering a culture of excellence.Guide the adoption of cloud-native tools, IaC practices (Terraform, Ansible), and DevOps automation pipelines.Collaborate deeply with key stakeholders: Security, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Development, and SRE teams.Lead the technical decision-making and cloud enablement strategy to ensure successful and sustainable cloud adoption.Oversee cloud administration, platform security, and environment lifecycle management.Champion agile delivery, continuous improvement, and cultural transformation across teams and departments.What We Look For in YouLeadership & ManagementDemonstrated experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams, ideally in environments undergoing transformation.Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with a hands-on approach.Proven success in navigating complex stakeholder environments and cross-functional collaboration.Technical Expertise2+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, ideally within cloud-focused environments.Extensive hands-on experience with AWS or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Experience in greenfield cloud builds and complex migrations to cloud environmentsAdvanced knowledge of cloud security, platform governance, and automationDrive governance, compliance, and operational best practicesSkilled in the administration of DevOps pipelines and deployment frameworksStrong grasp of multi-cloud architectures, hybrid integrations, and security tooling (IAM, encryption, auditing, compliance)Technical depth in infrastructure engineering, networking (VPC, BGP, DNS), and platform monitoring solutionsFamiliarity with tools and techniques to secure and operate cloudWhy this role?Greenfield build: Shape the platform, tooling, and team from scratchHigh visibility across the enterprise with direct influence on long-term cloud strategyOpportunity to work in a complex and technically demanding environmentLead a strategic transformation in a recovering department with strong executive support and vision.What You Need To Do NextIf this role sounds interesting, and you think you have the required experience, please contact me directly.Email: cristian@weareconcentric.com | Follow meConcentric Recruitment is a boutique recruitment firm with clients across Europe.
