LAB PURCHASING ENGINEER

Working together with our global Drivetrain and Morse Systems Engineering organization for the development of Morse, fluid and clutch products.
Being responsible for the cost-effective procurement of high-quality prototype components, sub-assemblies, assembly, testing fixtures, outsourcing service for DMS products within the Drivetrain and Morse Systems engineering organization at the China Technical Center.
Essential Functions.
Work with the engineering department to identify budget requirements for procurement needs during the quotation phase.
Be a major liaison between suppliers and BW Engineering teams for prototype activities.
Run internal Appropriation Request process for prototype budget releases.
Research and identify new potential prototype suppliers.
Create and continuously amend purchase order agreements.
Negotiate long-term agreements encompassing all commercial terms like incoterms, payment terms etc.
for prototype procurements.
Be responsible for tracking product quality and delivery timing (prototype components, fixtures, others as needed) to ensure fulfillment of all Engineering requirements.
Evaluate financial results and improvement ideas in respect of prototype sourcing activities.
Support global prototype sourcing activities as needed.
Drive/participate in supplier Continuous Improvement programs and cost reduction efforts.
Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Min.
3 years of related experience is preferred.
Automotive/Manufacturing experience is required.
Knowledge in understanding drawings is required.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Strong negotiation-, project management- and problem-solving skills.
Required PC skills.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
English language proficiency is required.
