JUNIOR CONTROL ENGINEER – OFFSHORE WIND

We are seeking a Junior Control Engineer with a background in electrical engineering to support our Grid Connection & Electrical Works Department. This role will primarily focus on supporting activities related to Offshore Wind Farms, Power Park Controllers, SCADA Systems, and Communications.As a Junior Control Engineer, you will play a key role in providing support for all electrical engineering activities pertaining to Offshore Wind Farms Control Systems and Monitoring. Reporting to the Head of Electrical Design at the Corporate level, you will offer guidance and expertise to the BlueFloat Energy portfolio on a global scale.MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assist in defining the corporate Power Park Controller and overall control philosophy (SCADA) for BlueFloat Energy's portfolio, under supervision.Assist in analysing project requirements and contributing to the general structure and functions of the systems.Support in documenting technical specifications and evaluating control capabilities and grid support functions for wind farm connection to the grid.Provide support in parametrizing Power Plant Controllers for BlueFloat’s Energy portfolio.Assist in monitoring specific market Grid Codes to identify any requirements that may necessitate adjustments to BlueFloat’s strategy.Contribute to the development of Power Plant Controller models in various software for BlueFloat’s Offshore Wind Portfolio.Collaborate with SCADA and Power Park Controller suppliers to ensure compliance with regulations and Grid Codes.Assist in coordination with offshore assets monitoring system suppliers, such as cables, floating units, and wind turbines.Support in conducting grid integration studies to verify proper dimensioning and grid code compliance of the Power Park Controllers.Assist in generating technical notes regarding grid code compliance issues related to Power Plant Controllers.Collaborate with the floating engineering department to integrate required functions into the wind farm's overall control system.Follow industry standards and specifications under supervision to ensure SCADA system design and operation comply with regulations and safety standards.Assist in coordinating with SCADA system providers across various stages, including design, supply, testing, and commissioning.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with a focus or coursework in renewable energy systems preferred.1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as renewable energy, electrical engineering, or a similar industry.Familiarity with grid integration concepts in the renewable energy sector.Basic understanding of wind farm control systems, with a willingness to learn and develop skills in this area.Familiarity with at least one software tool commonly used in the industry, such as PSSE, PSCAD, or PowerFactory, or a willingness to learn these tools.Basic understanding of application and infrastructure monitoring principles, with a willingness to develop expertise in this area.Basic knowledge of electrical grids and an interest in learning about grid code compliance.Interest in and willingness to review offshore wind farm electrical system studies, with guidance and support as needed.OTHER SKILLS: Languages: Fluent in English required (BlueFloat Energy’s working language); Fluency in Spanish is desired, other languages are valuable.
