The objective of most of our clients is to develop R+D+I activities in the fields of renewable energies and clean energy technologies, establishing strong links with leading companies in the energy sector.
WHAT DO WE NEED.
Selextgroup is looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on a project regarding to design new redox organic flow batteries that can work at temperatures of up to 80 °C.
The new battery will be based on low-cost, abundant organic molecules that are easily dissolved in water, electrolytes comprising lignin, thin non-fluorinated membranes and carbon electrodes.
Organic RFB makes this technology suitable for many applications where the requirements for batteries are more challenging like.
– Smoothing of non-dispatchable renewable power plants (like solar or wind) – Support for Ancillary services – High performance electric car recharge points – Improvement of grid flexibility and stability (at both transmission and distribution level).
– Avoid cooling needs in RFB placed in warm countries (between 40º Latitude North & 40º Latitude South).
Participation in national and international research projects in Electrochemical Energy Storage.
Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels including high impact scientific publications, presentation in international conferences, etc.
Writing project proposals to national and international calls related to the topic.
Supervision of PhD, Master or undergraduate students.
Requirements Research Field Chemistry Education Level PhD or equivalent   Skills/Qualifications PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related areas.
Hand-on experience in electrochemistry and/or electrochemical energy storage devices.

Proven experience in assembling and testing of small prototypes of batteries, in particular RFB.

Solid background in energy materials and their characterization.
International Postdoctoral experience in energy storage.
Experience in international research projects and collaborations.
Meritorious publishing track-record in related topic.
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
